The FinTech sector is in a state of rapid evolution, driven by emerging technologies, regulatory challenges, and a growing emphasis on financial inclusion and social impact. However it is a fact that the media coverage of the topic is rather limited both in volume and in depth compared to other sectors. In discussions between MAFH and journalists it has been highlighted that the latter have a demand for better training/education on the topic.
This media workshop, conducted in partnership with Media Trust, will navigate the complex and dynamic landscape of financial innovation. Armed with this knowledge, journalists will be well-prepared to not only drive transformation within the Fintech sector but also explore promising opportunities within the FinTech sector.
Workshop objectives:
- Provide better understanding of the role of digital technology in achieving financial innovation in Mauritius.
- Explore the growing use of blockchain technologies that allow faster, more flexible and secure payments systems, sharing experiences and expertise among peers in Mauritius.
- Explore the scope for digital technology to promote financial development and inclusion.
