FinTech Regulatory Roundtable – June 2022

20/06/2022 @ 09:00 - 13:00

The Mauritian FinTech ecosystem launched the first FinTech regulatory roundtables in 2020 to open up important discussions around the key challenges and blockers for this industry to thrive.

In 2022, and with the support of Cim Finance in this endeavor, we would like to continue the discussion on the topics previously tackled over the last two years, with the objective of assessing how far and how well things have progressed with regards to new processes, regulations and guidelines that have emerged from those. This would be an ideal post-budget opportunity for stakeholders of the ecosystem to come together, collaborate and discuss the future in depth.

Please join us on the Monday 20th June to address the following:

  • 9.00 – 9.15 a.m: Opening Ceremony
  • 9.15 – 9.45 a.m: Information Sharing & Data Access (Open API & eKYC)
  • 9.45 – 10.15 a.m: Ease of doing business & Consumer Protection (Focus: Digital Signature & Digital Banking)
  • 10.15 – 10.30 a.m: Coffee Break
  • 10.30 – 11.00 a.m: Blockchain (Focus: Use in fight against financial crime, compliance & digital transformation of financial services)
  • 11.00 – 11.30 a.m: RegTech (Focus: transformation of regulatory compliance in banking and financial services)
  • 11.45 –  12.00 a.m: Closing Ceremony
  • 12:00 – 1:00 p.m : Finger Lunch & Networking

You may refer back to the reports from the past two roundtables as a refresher (access links here for 2020 & here for 2021), out of which numerous recommendations were retained and presented by the Ministry of Finance for the 2021 Budget.

Venue: Le Sirius, Labourdonais Waterfront Hotel, Caudan Waterfront, Port-Louis

The individuals attending the Regulatory Roundtable will be spread across 5 different tables, with each table having the same agenda which will be managed by the moderator.
